Intermediate Level Present Perfect Tense Practice Set

With He, She, It, and Singular Subjects use –  Has and past participle (gone, taken, eaten, etc.)

With They, We, You, I, and multiple subjects use-  Have and past participle

Use the “Present Perfect” for something that happened in the past but is still important-

Ex- I cannot enter the car. I have lost my keys.

       Leen is not at home. I think she has gone to her college.

Use “has been/have been” when someone has gone to a place and returned-

Ex-          I have been to Bali.     (it means I have experienced Bali and returned)

      Where have you been?

   I have just been to the nearby market.

Use Has/Have gone when someone has not returned-

Ex –        Where is she?

               She has gone to a salon for haircut.     (it means she has not returned yet.)
