Fill the blanks with correct verb agreements.

#1. My uncle and aunt ………… arriving today.

Sentences starting with a possessive adjective (my, your, our) and having family expressing words connected with “and” (uncle and aunt), we use plural verbs with them.

#2. The Principal and Secretary ………… here to attend the meeting.

If two “singular nouns” connected with “and” and with the first singular noun, we use articles or possessive adjectives (my, your, our), it means we talk about one person, so we use “Singular Verb” with it.

Sentences starting with each of/either of/ neither of plus plural noun/plural pronoun, we use singular verbs with them.

If sentences start with each/every/either/neither plus singular countable noun (pen), we use “singular verb” with them

When two adjectives (red & white) connected with (and) and before it a singular common noun (dress) is used, and before the first adjective, we use indefinite articles (a & an), it is considered as one person or thing and we use singular verb with it.

#10. A red and a white dress ………… beautiful.

When two adjectives (red & white) connected with (and) and before it a singular common noun (dress) is used, and before the first and second adjective, we use indefinite articles (a & an), it is considered two different persons or things and we use plural verb with it.
